didn;t MS drop the "home" vs. "Pro" argument like a year ago? Isn't that why the start-up screen now simply says "WindowsXP" ?

Uh... yeah... so Microsoft's security problems are part of their business strategy? Planned obsolesence for the software era? It's the only logical explanation that I am able to arrive at. Vista is going to be a *HUGE* mistake that Microsoft is going to have to retract or revise within 6 months of it's official release. Mark my words.

I know its fun to bash on Home but haven't any of you looked into the info on the "life cycle" for Pro???http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=3223its not just home.... XP is in the can. Besides, didn't anyone see this coming. XP didn't do very well on the business side. If businesses would have taken to XP like they did 2k, it'd still be around for a long time.

I use Windows XP Home , it came with my machine 2.5 years ago. I work in networked enviroments everyday that need pro , but at home I dont. My machine plays games , types documents , surfs the net and thats about it. I dont need Domain functionality or RDC at home. It just seems like they are jumping the gun a little to early on this one imo.
