These are some of the most childish people on the internet, they believe that EVERYONE should be using unix, because it's this or that, but they never go into why.And if you ask them about their windows experience they say how terrible windows 98 was, and that some how makes them right.Well once, long ago both BSD and LINUX were just as terrible as windows 98 was, and before OSX mac os was also terrible.Things have changed, and even if some things about windows are less than perfect, but 99.9% of the world uses this imperfect system with no problems.Be it games, applications or (unlikely) marketing, windows is THE OS and the rest are just hobby material.

Yay for another flame wars thread. People like vista mainly because of the eye candy and the fact its something new. But give it a few months when viruses start getting through and the like and then people will get annoyed.Dont get me wrong, I've tried Vista RC1 and it was slow even on this 3.0ghz. Took forever to install and was definitely slower than XP. Every release of windows just seems to get worse and worse. (Just in case you're wondering, I am on XP im not a dedicated linux "fanboy"). Although I have used and enjoyed using linux. It's capable of similar transparency effects with a fraction of the requirements. But at the moment I need XP for various applications. So im stuck until I find some (open source) alternatives. If I could give vista a score out of 10. It would be nothing other than a mere 2 or 3 and I certainly see a fair few businesses switching to alternatives.Anyway thats my 2 cents :p

Actually, I need a 5.25" floppy drive that will work with a modern system.

Um, I have tried it. RC1 was a turd, so I tried RC2 for a week. I found lots of little problems playing games. It definitely is slower than XP. It is very pretty looking. Whenever you try to modify system files, the whole screen greys out and this confirmation box appears basically saying "are you sure?" and you click "ok". Now that's a solid permissions system! LOLI sure was happy to boot back into Mac OS X. I've wiped out Vista RC2 and replaced Windows XP, at least it works properly with games...
