seattletimes.nwsource.com — Imagine this. One of the world's most powerful monopolies puts 10,000 people to work for five years to create one new product. And nobody is really sure if anyone wants it. How's that for a gamble?

You are crazy if you think that 90% of computers bought won't have vista on them by summer.

How many hours did it take you to setup linux? Do you think the average mom or dad could do it with no prior knowledge? Exactly. Its not intuitive, not easy, and not fun to setup.

@TheReport 3:I'm using Firefox because I'm scared? I thought it was because I dislike IE and they keep having numerous exploits discovered.Though I do agree about Microsoft's business model. Take innovative idea, force creator into expensive litigations, crush with wallet, repeat.

Honestly, I'm excited about Vista's release. Legit copies of XP will be super cheap now!

The author of this article sounds like he hasn't used windows since Windows Me (which is enough of a reason to drop windows all together). Seriously though, he still gets blue screens? Windows XP is rock solid now and has been for years. I haven't seen a single blue screen on the hundred or so computers I admin in 4 years. If you still get blue screens then something is wrong with your hardware or your hardware's s**tty drivers.

To make Windows XP? 3 monkeys, 10 minutes.
