gizmodo.com— Bad news for photographer using about Vista. Apparently if you tag a photo's metadata in Vista, it destroys other important metadata used by image editing apps such as Photoshop.

"Perhaps they are expected by Windows users. I have never had a Mac or a Linux box destroy image metadata, for example.I think you need to set your standards higher for system upgrades."That would be a reason why it is never a shocker, not why it is always a shocker. I should add that I have never had Vista destroy image metadata, perhaps because my camera doesn't break the standards...
There's a difference between free speech and using free speech to outright generalize a group of people. There are tons of people who've used multiple OSs, including OSX and Windows. And there are people who tri-boot there machines. One of those people is talking to you right now.Telling people not to give Vista a chance is the same as telling people not to give linux or OSX/Unix a chance.People need to stop bitching and siding with operating system platforms, it's nonsensical.Operating System people!
Dude, you're taking things way too seriously here.Like I said, we're still bitching about Operating Systems here, and you still have a choice. Linux [and all it's flavors] is still here, and so is OSX. I'd start to worry if all those operating system would start to mysteriously disappear. We all know Microsoft's history, we all know what happened in the past between Apple and Microsoft. But there's no denying that Windows is still the majority holder in the OS world market. Until Linux, or OSX eat up most of their (desktop) market share, we're still going to have to put up with Microsoft, and we're still going to have to encounter Windows almost on a daily basis. They're just OSs, not revolutionary weapons to overthrow an evil empire.
Really? So what happens when Microsoft decides to hold the world hostage? Or, since the code is CLOSED and nobody can see it, perhaps put in a back door in order to gain information from government(s) or competitor(s) to gain leverage?MS has proven that they have NO scruples. They are also in a unique position-- they have a piece of software that nobody is allowed to look at in detail, under the hood, that gives them reach into every nook and cranny of just about everywhere. That doesnt' scare you?THINK.
We're getting into conspiracy theories here. Sure they CAN do that, but will they? What good will it do to them? I don't know, it just seems like a "What for, why bother" situation.

Macs don't suck. Only their users do.

Microsoft is already working on the next version of the Windows operating system, and you dare to tell me that Vista isn't finished?
