raymond.cc — Someone by the nickname of Dr. Chang has managed to permanently activate Windows! Dr. Chang has included screenshots to proof it. Dr. Chang tried pushing the date to Year 2016 (ten years ahead) and restarting several times, then moved the date back to 2006, the only thing that expired is his Antivirus.

So if I understand correctly...- This crack *does* fully activate Vista- This crack is different from previous hacks as it allows the activation of all vista versions, and not just the corporate/enterprise/KMS editions- The latest update from MS will un-crack/deactivate this hack of vista and makes it usable for only 30 days, but after 1/30, one may be purchased- Once cracked using this method, turning off automatic updates will allow an unexpiring, always activated copy. Can someone verify if my understanding is correct, particularly on the last statement? Does turning off automatic updates do the trick, or is ANY part of the OS 'phoning home'?

Thanks for your thoughts on this--this is what I was figuring as well, just looking for some validation. And for the record, I don't enjoy spending oodles of time chasing down OS cracks...I'm just impatient for it to go on sale, and eager to get a jump on Vista Media Center in particular. :)

I still enjoy the claim that vista pirates will be 'punished' by not suffering cpu eating glossy 'features'. oh no!having a genuine version is great, as are all my laptops, but I'm almost as irked by activation as I am by DRM. As it runs on my hardware I'll modify it as I please: remove/strip

Hi allI've got a huge problem. Since I tried Dr Chang's activation crack, my PC won't update to save it's life. In the meantime I purchased Vista Home Premium, and not even the legal version updates. I remember in Dr Chang's instructions it said something about writing something to your PC's CMOS. I tried resolving the issue by flashing my board to the latest BIOS. I have an Intel 919PGN board.Does anyone have any idea's and/or fixes for this problem? I really can't afford to purchase new hardware at this stage.Re, G
