support.microsoft.com— "You can use [Notepad] to create a log-type file that adds the current date and time each time the Notepad file is opened." Who knew?

Thanks for sharing info about the .LOG functionality! The best text and HTML editor? Allaire/Macromedia/Adobe HomeSite, of course. Always has been my Top Pick. Oh, I wish I trusted Adobe do to the right thing and rekindle support and updates for HomeSite. Or just make it open source....By the way, .LOG functionality should work regardless of the text editor. It has more to do with the OS and .txt file extension. right?
For anyone wondering, in most versions of the PalmOS (including the most recent), if you open a new Memo and type in "shortcut dts" it will insert a date/time stamp. Note: the "shortcut" symbol for the Palm is a simple loop like a hand written lowercase "L".
Probably not. Since it doesn't use the regional time format found in control panel->Regional Options->Time/Date. You would either use the regional set format as the default or specify your own. It appears they specified their own.
I was wondering why no folks here talk abt MS OneNote. I am a huge fan of this tiny software and use it often than word or typepad. Big advantage is that it keep on saving your notes even I your system crash in the middle of work! I love OneNote
The reason to use notepad to build webpages in notepad is because it is the simplist tool provided with a windows tool. HTML needs no editors other than the most bare text editors. You have to be a dolt to need syntax highlighting.Besides, real men use edit (win) or ed (gnu).

Nope, it's all editor-based.

I wish I could integrate TextPad into Outlook and use it for the default Notes editor instead the crappy built-in sticky notes themed editor.
