i.gizmodo.com — I like the new Windows Mobile 6.5 interface, specially the new home screen, which is brilliantly executed. Running on the new HTC Touch Diamond 2, everything looked smoother, cleaner, and matched the iPhone's lick factor.

"the iPhone 3G is superior to ALL phones ever made around the world."hoooold on a sec there. That is some big statement you've just made there. I bet you've never used some of those Nokia's phones outside of the US?? Maybe some SE phones too??? Do your Google first before you talk none sense.

Yay. Shoehorning a touch interface into an OS that wasn't designed for it. Also I know I just love a home screen chock full of identical text with no easy to spot icons, don't you? That company just can't let go of it's DOS roots. Any chance for a text-heavy interface and they are ALL OVER IT.

Thing is you use WM if you want a phone to use for work and iPhone as more of a lifestyle statement. Can you edit work docs on the iPhone? No. Can you use your WM phone like a Zune? Probably not.

1) I agree that many of the Home screen gestures seem to be a waste of time. I would never swipe through favourites, photos, text messages, etc.2) I have no problem with contextual menus and can't see any reason why they can't be properly implemented on a small screen. Hold to right-click is very intuitive and works extremely well. Why have a touchscreen if you can't take advantage of the fact that you can access everything on the screen?3) The unlock screen looks to be much more innovative than Apples unlock screen. The fact that you can unlock to a particular screen (e.g. your text messages, voice mail) and it shows you what communications have been received while the phone has been locked is a very good idea.4) It's an alpha build on untested hardware. Give them time to release the final version before criticising performance.

I don't give a s**t if Apple advertises. Have you ever scrolled lists on an iPod Touch or iPhone? Scrolling is immediate and fluid, unlike every other smart phone on the market. If I have to sit and wait for it to start scrolling then it needs adjustments.

Really? First of all, the unlock screen is a blatant ripoff from the iphone. Second off, every single menu and action was laggy and choppy... how hard is it to have smooth animations? AFAIK the touch diamond 2 is pretty impressive in specs, so is the choppiness attributed to poor coding?

Ehh... Not impressed. And from what I've heard, they've done nothing to the backend.
