Unless you go through and change all those settings. Not that hard, and it's not like iTunes doesn't do the same thing by default ...OH WAIT! It's COOL to bash anything MS for no good reason! LOL forgot I was on digg for a second there.
I tried itunes, songbird, wmp, realplayer, winamp, creative, musicmatch etc and Windows Media Player is the best. THeir old version had some real organization problem in their library, you would always have to make it full screen. But with the new WMP that solves that problem, I can say that it is the best.First, WMP is beautiful, simple, and has a powerful library. It's does not have the fastest startup time but it's the same with any loaded media players (ex. itunes). Lots of plugins you can get/buy. The library is the best thing about it. Not only is it organized, but you can update your music files to the proper metatag easily. It's also integrated with windows media center. If you use it and with zune/other portable media center players (ex. toshiba gigabeat), it syncs recorded tv, music, videos, etc. very well.iPod does not work with WMP, but there is a commercial plugin. I haven't tested the plugin but others said it was good and better than using itunes. For people who don't have a lot of music or don't organize their music properly, use a different software like winamp. You'll have trouble finding music in the library if the metatags aren't correct. Many people say WMP library sucks, but really it's just people not knowing how to organize music. If you buy music, its no problem but if you download or rip cds, learn how to organize music & acquire the proper metatags instead of saying a software sucks.I buy my songs and the DRM thing doesn't annoy me. I have no problems with it. I don't know why people hate DRM. I guess you can't copy songs for your friends but that's a pro for me because I hate copying songs for friends, especially the freeloaders who ask me to download songs for them.
how to change the new icons back (if this hasn't already been posted...):open a folder (My Music maybe? nahhhh...)Next: Tools>Folder Options...>File Types>scroll down to "MP3"highlight "MP3">click "Advanced">click "Change Icon" to... ummm... i forget...in case you need it, the icon's location is: "C:WINDOWSsystem32wmploc.dll".does anyone know how to make this thing display ~artist, title, length, bit rate, size, and file name/path~ all at the same time like wmp 10 did?doom.
"FINALLY it fully supports Windows x64. Perfect! " Fully? Then why is it listed as an x86 platform in SysInfo and under Processes as a 32bit program? anything with *32 is NOT x64 supported. WMP11 is ONLY supported as a 64 bit program in Vista NOT XP x64.
