1) Rules for monopolists and other businesses are different. If you don't understand it you should probably go back to school.2) There are only 4 major browsers, allowing a choice of which browser to install during OS installation is not hard at all and 30 more MBs do not make any difference to already bloated Windows which takes 5 gigs installed.3) How the f**k is it related to any other software? Browser is a gateway to the whole internet, it is the single most important software after operating system. For other reasoning you can refer to the report issued by the Commission.I'm glad that people digging me down do not work in European Commission, which has a lot more sense.
What about hundreds of fixes for 3rd party software hosted on Microsoft's website? What about tons of specific code to support old applications in newer versions of windows? What about hundreds of articles explaining how to make 3rd party software work in MS knowledge base?
RE: " ... also the Snow Leopard upgrade will throw in Microsoft Exchange protocols for free...This means that any mail client you install under OSX Snow Leopard will have full Outlook like connectivity to any MS Exchange Server ... "I don't know why Apple is not making a larger noise about this, but it could be because Apple don't really target the enterprise, where MS Exchange protocols being built in is actually a really big deal...
I remember 3.11, 95 , 98 , Me , XP, NT, 2000, Vista, CE 3.0 , but none of them in beta. Seriously, there were two days where it chrashed one time after another
@mrBitch"same basic architecture"Operating Systems aren't basic any more, they're talking about some minor low-level stuff. And as for the Snow Leopard update; enjoy your 64bit OS, and welcome to 2002.

"European Commission's banning of IE8 from any Windows installer media"F**k EU and f**k Opera. A browser is no-cost software anyway, so why this? For Opera's involvement read e.g. this:http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Windows/Windows-Enthusias ...Both customers and application developers want IE8 in.

Vista came with Both in 1 package, but I think it was only Ultimate that had x64. I may be wrong.

I'm not sure if you've tried it or not, but the improvements are enough from what I've found.
