Can't say for sure until it's out, but looks very evolutionary, just some new features. Sure hope they fix the underlying structure issues. Drivers have been a huge headache.
If this is it... Microsoft is dead. They're not coming out of the old routine, and this is absolutely falling behind. W7 will be released in '09, then it will be old crap.
Well, isnt it nice that MS gives piles of software away to students all the time. Office, Expression, Visual Studio and others are available for $0.Heck, you can get a free XNA Community subscription too..
I'm sorry but if you have to turn off programs (ie sidebar, which should not take up proc in the first place) in order to get your system to run well, why would you want vista? You should be able to run everything with out a hitch, then you have a good OS. nothing is perfect, but vista is pretty far off if you ask me.
i don't know if it's total cr@p because i don't use advance features of ftp; but is good enough to browse and transfer files, which is all i use ftp for.

You want the Windows development team at Microsoft to go slower? Holy s**t man, they need to get more agile the way it is.
