blogs.chron.com — Are you using the Windows 7 beta? Are you anxiously awaiting updates that may advance its capabilities? Are you hoping, perhaps, that Microsoft will make it easy on you by turning your beta copy into a release candidate via Windows Update? Well, starting next week, Windows 7 users will start getting updates, all right. But don't get too excited.

What are the issues you're having? I'm just curious, as I've been using the 64-bit version for about a month now with 0 problems.

You always have to do a player wipe at the end of beta, otherwise upon release the beta players will dominate since they already have tons of gold and xp. It's just fair.

Perhaps this will change your mind: Windows 7 is not as stable as Vista (at least not on the two PCs I'm running it on). I'd go back to Vista right now if it didn't mean reinstalling Windows on 2 PCs and setting everything back up the way I like it.I've had several problems (nothing major, and nothing that's surprising for a beta release). I'm not liking the new taskbar either. If you use it in 'large icons, no text' mode some apps with multiple windows are a pain to use. This may be due to the apps being programmed for earlier versions of Windows, but that doesn't stop it being really irritating. Also, there is already at least one more recent build floating around, which may provide better results.

I think it's a good thing. MS is being more careful with 7 than with Vista and is taking things slowly, testing each feature to make certain it is working properly. A little patience goes a long way when releasing a new OS.

The only problem I have had with Windows 7 is random changes in resolution from 1650x1080 to 1024x768, it is really weird.
