It's potentially a great deal, if you qualify. Unfortunately, theres a good chance your old car won't.

Why do you have 4 trucks? I can't think of any reason to have more than one truck unless someone else is driving it, in which case it would be misleading to say you own more than one.

What really pisses me off is I can buy a motorcycle with almost no safety features but i can't buy a car with the same.

In the long run less cars per person would need to be built because the useful life of that cars would be increased. For example, say a individual drives from the age 16 to 86 (70 years) let say that this "temporary" government program is available through that individual's life. Under the government plan they trade in their "clunker" and get a new car every 7 years. Then also consider that if this plan didn't exist they would buy a new car every 10 years. Under the "clunkers" government plan 10 new cars would be built just for that individual whereas without the 'clunkers' plan, only 7 cars would be built for that individual.
