sports.espn.go.com — In his first game with the Chicago Bulls, on Oct. 18, 1974, Nate Thurmond amassed 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists and 12 blocked shots in a 120-115 overtime win against Atlanta. More than 11 years would pass before Alvin Robertson would join Thurmond in the quadruple-double club...

According to the article, 10 steals in a game has happened only 14 times since 1973, and 4 of those were by Alvin Robertson (2 of them in quadruple-double games). 10 blocks, on the other hand, has happened about 170 times.

I thought that in this era it was going to be Jason Kidd because he is a good defender, as the article mentions. But he's too old now.Personally, I disagree with the assertion that it's going to be a center. I think a small forward like a Shawn Marion is the best bet. Maybe even Kevin Garnett if you want someone in between those two positions. Not that it couldn't be a center. I just like SF better.I think about Shane Battier, Anthony Mason, Grant Hill...a guy who's a PG at SF. All the SF needs is a good matchup where he gets some sloppy opponent that he can get some blocks and steals on. The points, boards and assists can happen. All the player needs is steals or blocks. Maybe both.I think the nature of offense has changed with the way the center posts up that it doesn't make much sense to kick the ball out if you can get your guy under the basket with the ball. Offenses and defenses running plays in the paint are really a lot more precise and mechanical than they were 15 years ago. The Iversons and Bryants of the world want to run down and put the ball up. If you let a play develop for a big man in the paint, he's gonna dish the ball? He's gonna shoot, not just because he wants to, but because it was a pain in the ass to get the ball to him. He's not under orders to look for the outlet pass, he's under orders to look to draw a foul and maybe get 3 from it.It's gotta be SF.

Especially since he didn't even have to use his AK.

Tim Duncan had a game of 20 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists, and 8 blocks in a FINALS game against the Nets, Game 6, 2003.The quad-doub will happen again. It's just a matter of when.

I can see Wade or Paul doing it. Also maybe Westbrook in the future.

What are you f**king crazy?Rondo is matched with 3 future Hall of Famers. Just like Jordan, the Big 3 make average players look alot better than they really are. I'm not saying Rondo is average, I'm just saying watch how he plays in a couple years when the big 3 start feeling that old age.

Double figures in 4 of these categories...PointsReboundsAssistsBlocksStealsYou have to figure 3 of the categories would be Points, Rebounds, and Assists. How many big men (a) get a lot of assists and (b) could get a lot of blocks? That would be one list of candidates. How may smaller men (a) get a lot of rebounds and (b) could get a lot of steals? That's the other list of candidates.
