I say if Apple won't give us a way to watch their legal iTunes content on 5th gen iPods, then use illegal content. Their loss.

Neil's right, if you start playing video off an iPod Classic using the new cables and then unplug the cable and plug in an old composite cable, the video keeps right on playing. There's no technically valid reason for this, as the new cables and old cables do the same thing.
