vgchartz.com — Last week the Wii sold 70k in Japan 93k in USA, and 64k in Others, for a total of 227k. Xbox360 sold 3k in Japan, 44k in America, 22k in Others for a total of 69k in a week. 227k-69k=159k so it should take about 8 more weeks for Wii to pass Xbox360 at the current rate, or the end of August.

Wow, things are going to get exciting this Christmas. Metroid/Smash/Galaxy vs. Halo and GTA

I don't think those numbers are accurate. Xbox 360 has been at 10million since Christmas.

It's called a novelty... Everyone loves the new, or next big thing. I will eventually get a Wii because it's affordable, and because it's a good system for when a few people stop by and there's not much going on. Lets not kid ourselves here though, I find the prospect of always doing weird gestures to play a game a little tedious, which is why Wii will be the second system I buy. I like playing games with traditional controllers, and having great graphics and physics, because the great graphics and physics... and amazing storylines are what i consider immersive. Mouse gestures didn't make anything really better than shortcuts and point-and-click, but to each his/her own.

Probably not many, since Microsoft has done a pretty good job of addressing the hardware problems.http://www.digg.com/xbox_360/Microsoft_Announces_3_Year_360_Warrenty_Extension

But statistics are only numbers that show how things work in reality; and we all know reality has a well known bias towards Nintendo. To say Wii is in trouble is ludicrous. Nintendo is constantly as a company in the top selling games, sells the fastest selling home console ever, has the most popular handheld hands-down. The only time I hear "the Wii is in trouble" is when people use anecdotal evidence like "my parents played it every day when they got it...now they only play it 3 times a week" and other poorly thought out arguments like that. Every major investment company is betting on Nintendo for the next couple of years, the numbers and statistics (which apparently don't mean jack to some people) favor Nintendo, publishers and designers are moving massive amounts of money into Wii development..yeah...the Wii sure is in trouble...

Wow, are you people behind the times, or what? None of those 360 sales reflect people 'buying new ones if their old ones break,' because Microsoft put out a worldwide three-year warranty on every console. In other words, regardless of whether you bought extra warranty time or not, if you've bought your 360 less than three years ago (which unless you're Dr. Who, you did), then you can get it repaired or replaced for free. Another smart move from MS. Flaunting their cash a bit, sure, but it was still both the smart, and the right, thing to do. So, no, unless people are even stupider than I thought, none of the 360's sales are from people needing replacements. As for the Wii... Ugh. Hopefully, soon, people will wake up to the gimmick that it is. I like complicated games. They ARE my idea of fun. Therefor, all you people who keep spouting this "people need to learn how to have fun" nonsense, I DO know how, and it's NOT the Wii, so quit ranting like it's the way of the future. I wouldn't be surprised if it did out-sell the 360, largely in thanks to Japan's ridiculous amount of nationalism (the Gamecube outsold the XBox over there if I remember correctly), as well as all the people who can somehow decide that waving your arms around like a drunk fool is innovation. Cooking games? Horse racing? ANOTHER boring Zelda game, the story and general idea of which hasn't changed since 1992? And you want me to pay $100 for these, plus the console? Uh, I'll pass. So, sorry for that rant there. But seriously, I hope people wake up to this stupid, gimmicky console fast enough for it to not convince MS and Sony that it really IS the way of the future, because anyone who appreciates complexity can tell you the Wii is most definately not for 'everyone'.

i think Wii just passed the Xbox 360, but that means low stock. The best guide to finding one is here at http://wiiinstock.weebly.com
