I saw this video last night and have been thinking about it since. Really, this is clever but impractical. I can't imagine soldering several wires, connecting my wii to my monitor and then playing it. Compared to just buying a game and playing it on my television -- Yeah, I'd save a few bucks but itjust seems somewhat over the top in my estimation....I'll wait for some reasonable version of a modchip,or how about, buy my games like a responsible person who respects game developers...Just a thought....
This is about as relevant as that guy who hooked up his broken iPod to a full sized hard drive so he could listen to music. Some people are just too desperate to play hacked games. Buy the damn game, and stop hooking up your Wii to the computer and using your remote as a mouse pointer. Good grief.
It applies to this conversation thus:The original statement was "Im almost ready to believe the wii can do anything."It brought to my mind the "Babylon 5" reference where someone said essential that they were ready to believe that someone, Sheridan could do anything. I found it humorous and copied it here for those who could appreciate the humor in it, for those who look back on "Babylon 5" with some fondness, and for those who might have not come across the reference for some reason or another and might somehow be enlightened by exposure to it.
I guess you don't get the point here .. I already said it isn't a feasible solution. If I wanted to pirate games, I would have installed a modchip the day they were out and just downloaded them all. I made this video to show that with 3 dollars and a half hour, you can mod a Wii to play a backup. I haven't played the game more than 10 minutes to make sure the mod was working and I didn't get disc read errors. The Wii is hooked back up to the TV and playing originals still. There is a difference between being "desperate to play hacked games" and doing a DIY mod for the sole fun of doing it. Like many of the things that I do, the end result isn't nearly as much fun as the process of hacking it in the first place.
