gear.ign.com — IGN reports on a sensor bar unveiled at CES that should be hitting the market soon. The company boasts their sensor bar will pick up the Wii Remote up to 25 feet away from the IR source. It runs on 4 AAA batteries with up to 30 hours of life. No price point was mentioned.

@mthanded: The reason there were so many people mentioning it was because they were all comments made in the span of 1-2 minutes...all writing similar comments at the same time. After they were seen, it stopped.@Crass22: Actually, reading the article, the authors don't ever say the sensor bar will pick up the Wii-Mote. They just say the "little bar works from upt o 25 feet away". So kudos to Matt C., he knows his s**t.

I don't know what it is with Nyko's products, but they look cheap, and way sketchy.

A lot of people seem to be upset and don't understand why they are making them... Obviously the product isn't for you, but it does make sense when you don't have your Wii right next to your TV. A new peripheral for the Wii that will allow more users to enjoy the product is a good thing. I didn't realize so many Digg users were Wii-tards!

Hmm...So you probably know that the wiimote can be connected by bluetooth to a computer, and used as a pointing device/accelerometer. A sensor-bar is, of course, required to use the pointing function. So what would you think about a device that would be attachable to a laptop computer/LCD, with an optional attachment to a CRT/Television and powered by USB?Would you ever use such a device, and, more importantly, how much would you pay for it?
