youtube.com— Acid2 is a compliance test and I run it on the Wii's Opera 9 based Shop Browser. How will it fare? Keep in mind that this browser was never supposed to work like this.

Opera is a truly amazing browser, one that outclasses all the rest. Seems it has been modified quite a bit for the Wii Shop, but I don't think this is what we should expect with the final release of the Opera browser for the Wii.
The Acid2 test is only designed for desktop browsers in their completely default mode. Opera Mini and Mobile render it for small devices (if you are in Opera, press Alt + F12), so it is not in a standard mode.
1. I had my hand wrapped around my head to get a good pointer on my computer where i was recording.2. Your hand is going to "move" when pressing A if your in a bad position.3. I'm very impatient... almost every twitch and move is intentional.
I take that back... I ran another test outside of the proxy using a local copy of the test with the same results. Desktop version still passes. But you all still have to understand how this browser works. There JS files that need to be loaded into the page to get certain things to work. The fact remains that we do not understand all the functions of the browser (yet).
Yes, Opera passes Acid2, too. And you are NOT supposed to scroll it. If you do, the thing that happens is SUPPOSED to happen because of the way the test is set up.So:1. Opera on desktop/mobile also passes Acid22. Scrolling is not part of the test3. If you do scroll, what happens is expected to happen
didn't get back in time to edit my post and add the following...also, with Flash supposedly being supported in the browser when it comes out, I wonder how Youtube and Google Video will fare.Since JavaScript works, I would love to see Google Maps loaded up on that.

I don't understand, I don't have the Internet channel on my Wii. It isn't available yet, so how did this person get it on their Wii?
