wiinis.com — This looks like a problem that has started happening to a lot of Wii users within the past week. According to Nintendo the systems are overheating (even if they are not in an enclosed space) and this is damaging the video processor. The pictures are helpful. If this is happening to you, the deadline to return your launch Wii is Feb. 17!

This is a good point, the Nintendo tech support guy believed the overheating was due to WiiConnect24. These problems didn't start occurring until around the time Elebits came out, so they thought a lot of people just started using WiiConnect24. This was not the case with me. I had the service running from the time I bought the system and had actually moved it to a better ventilated area a week before the errors started occurring.

My Wii died after 3 days because it was on its side, and overheated! Worst thing was, it was on standby, not even on. When i turned it back on, the screen just rolls bottom to top, and is completely unusable.Thankfully i kept my receipt and got it changed at the store i bought it.So far no probs with the new wii, but i have installed an extra fan on it just incase...........

I started getting disk errors when I connected to Wii 24. I unplugged it for 30 minutes and it worked fine. I bought a cooling fan stand, but it doesn't have enough air flow to do the job when in sleep-mode. The fan stays on when the Wii is sleeping.
