dpad.gotfrag.com— What's Nintendo's gameplan post-launch? A local Toys-R-Us manager may have let slip some yet-to-be-confirmed details for the Wii come Spring '07.

"My theory:They didn't want to introduce the colours at launch because it may put off customers who had their favourite colour sold out."I'm pretty sure that's exactly what their strategy is. As in, there's a quote somewhere about that.
colors I don't care so much.. but hardware upgrades? That would truly suck. Well, if it's only DVD, I don't care, but to release something w/ better hardware so soon? It doesn't make any sense.
The wii is basically a slightly higher clocked Gamecube console with nicer motion controllers. I love my Nintendo Wii (jokes aside) but what nobody seems to remember is when Nintendo charged £250 pounds for the N64 and then dropped the price to £150 (I think) everyone was up in arms. I imagine they could easily do this again. I think Microsoft did the same with the X-block too. But they gave everyone involved a free game controller/game combo to soften the blow.So I imagine this is MORE than possible. We shall see. I don't see the console costing more than £100 to make to be honest so it is far from unrealistic. I also really want a black shiny Nunchuck/Wiimote combo so bring it on :)
>The wii is basically a slightly higher clocked Gamecube console with nicer motion controllers. <The best-case rumoured specs say it's almost twice as powerful. The worst case say half as much again. Neither is 'slightly'.And read the story again. There's a link at the bottom: the system supposedly costs 80 pounds to make, before the controller and Wii Sports.
my theory...the guy at toys 'r us doesn't have many friends. the guy who wrote the blog is an idiot and still believes that santa will bring him a red and white wii for christmas that matches his suit.my only problem now is i don't know whether to bury this as inaccurate or lame.
Article, not a blog. And yes, you didn't read it all, because the author only reported what was said and speculated himself the entire time that it could all be farce.maybe you should be less rude next time
