it's a good engineering school, i did a part time gig at SUNY Geneseo delivering gases and experiment materials and other such things from the geneseo physics/engineering department up 390 to RIT for use in their research... I also took the GRE and LSAT there :-)
zerocubedJul 21, 2010
I study film there
heasbyJul 21, 2010
Very clever. I'm using it now and it seems reliable, fast and
dinglebuttJul 21, 2010

I did this in my backyard with a 30W solar panel, DD-WRT router and some 12V batteries. Recently changed it so that it doesn't use an inverter, and just the 12V supply.

kentiferJul 21, 2010
Heck yes.
doublebaconsodaJul 21, 2010
The cost of the supplies and manpower makes this project worthless on a large scale. I just made that up but im sticking to it.
thejackattackJul 21, 2010
depends on the scale
mrjufrowJul 21, 2010

aquileriaJul 21, 2010
it's not so bad there, oswego you literally need snow shoes to walk to class, geneseo (rochester area) was never all that crazy IMHO though
ciavtJul 21, 2010

bcronosJul 21, 2010
Don't they have regular electrical outlets at RIT?
aitironbirdJul 21, 2010
I guess they had alot of money to waist.... its gonna take like 1000 years for the power usage of the router to repay for its self.
zerocubedJul 21, 2010
It's true. Us RIT students love our internet a bit too much...
aitironbirdJul 21, 2010
why not use solar and windpower to power the building the wifi resides in.... n00bs
