OK....who didn't see this one coming?

This was inevitable. After getting a 15" Widescreen display on my PowerBook G4 it felt so odd looking at my lesser used HP laptop that has a square display. Theres really no reason not to have widescreen laptops anymore.

I'm with you on that, but it's not as bad if you like to dock your buddy list, or move the launch menu to the left.

That was the first time I have heard that someone prefers 4:3 to 16:9 (or 16:10 in the case of PCs).

Yeah, my last 2 laptops were widescreen, it would be difficult to go back to 4:3 now.

I agree. Widescreens are best for big monitors where you can have two windows open next to eachother. Laptop screens are just too small.

Hate to be a cynic, but they seem to be using "widescreen" as a way to make smaller screens sound bigger. In monitors a 20" widescreen is more like an augmented 19" or a truncated 4:3 20". It's a cheat if you think you're getting more for your money. But they are less expensive, so I just wish that the naming was more honest.
