Peopel don't use wifi tools to configure wifi for their laptop/desktopThese tools are more for sniffing, hacking etc

Unisux user actually. Also just because you use and test aircrack does not mean you crack your neighbors wifi. And kismet is a wifi swiss army knife, It can use it to detect WAPs, packet sniffing and IDS too.
