applexnet.com— An article on the background of the CEO, president, and ownership of MySpace. Very informative and detailed. A good read. Maybe you'll think twice about signing up.

Dugg. Interesting article regardless how you feel about MySpace. The way I see it, yes, MySpace is a goofy, advert infested nightmare (but, since installing Adblock, when is the last time you've actually seen an advertisement) but it makes a subset of "the people" happy. Let "the people" be happy. Based on the incredible popularity of the site, "the people" have already made it known that they want this sort thing. MySpace is doing something right even if they are, at their heart, evil.We have digg and Slashdot, they have MySpace. Democracy at its finest.P.S. Why are you guys so angry? Who hurt you?
"myspace is going to sell our information to advertisers and penny advertisers... didn't you already know that."heh heh, you have a myspace too, i am yur "friend"
I have a Myspace account but, honestly I can't stand it. All my friends use myspace though so I'm kinda just stuck using it atm. It's just getting outdated imo there is no web 2.0 tools.(Which are things I love) XHTML/CSS editing of your page is kinda limited. For bands yes maybe you do get alot of promoting using it but, you know there are also other places you can go to promote your band also. Honestly I don't use Myspace to find bands and all spam I get in my message box from bands gets deleted. For those of you who aren't sucked into Myspace tryout <a class="user" href="http://www.tagworld.com">http://www.tagworld.com</a>
Myspace uses Cold Fusion if you get errors like i do all the time it gets annoying. cold fusion is so bad one time i got an error and it showed me their CGI Variables yeah they have no protection what a bad layout they will not survive. The funny thing is they can never update to another program they are stuck with cold fusion forever good one Tom. haha
hmm. i have a myspace, and it's not that bad. i've never gotten any emails from them or their affiliated companies that solicit myspace as a tool for advertising. my page is not ugly at all, and all the ugly pages are people who dont know how to match colors, fonts, etc. so dont bash. haha. changing a few settings on your myspace is all you need to avoid mail and crap from them. being careful is the main thing about the people you add as friends. whatever, this isnt gonna make me stop using it. it's not like the personal information i give is useful. it's just my name (and i didnt even give my full name - just my first name and the first letter of my last) and a spam-prone email address i made specifically for registering. not a big deal. i have lots of friends...they have myspaces too. im happy.
f**k myspace. It scars the internet and makes people far more dumber. It even does a better job screwing people's lives than Bush's "No Child Left Behind Act."Go Trent! (And those people can't code)
What's funny is that you idiots here at Digg are doing the same thing as myspace is doing, writing a stupid blog no one cares about.god damn hypocrites.

It's hot like a firey volcano erupting in Canada right now. (Of course, all fads come to Canada a couple months behind our U.S. counterpart).
