Whoa. The article links to: http://www.marketskeptics.com/2009/03/fed-is-plann ...which has scared the living s**t out of me. Tomorrow I stock up on $200 worth of Bic lighters for the coming hard times.

I remember as a kid going shopping with my Mom as a kid, about 1962. We loaded 2 carts mounding top and bottom. The total was 30 dollars. I remember this because she had never spent so much on groceries and she kept exclaiming on that. The city we lived in had a factory that made all kinds of stuff and employed 25 to 30 thousand people. Now it assembles a couple of things from parts made overseas and only employs a couple thousand people. My dad was in local government, elected, no pay and made a difference. Now we are ruled by a faceless bureaucracy and are afraid to speak up.My hope and prayer is the collapse is as bloodless as possible. I could happen, the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe was mostly bloodless. What we rebuild as a free people can be great.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitudebetter than the animating contest of freedom,go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms.Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.May your chains set lightly upon you,and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." Samuel Adams
