April 20th... While youre all high and trying to figure out what 420 actually means, everyone who has saved any seeds from males or just crap weed should do as Nougat says above. Become Johnny Endoseed. Throw a few here and a few there. Good places to throw are parks, roadsides, government buildings, landscaping around malls, etc... Always try to make it public places so nobody loses their property later. Throw enough seeds and something is sure to come up somewhere.

I would hold judgment until I read the real article. This is a news piece written by a journalist. Journalists usually do not understand the papers or the results and more often then not get the findings wrong. All the studies I've seen show no correlation between marijuana use and cancer. We'll see what the paper says but the fact that you point to a news station piece and hold it up as science puts your knowledge of science into question.

You are ignorant.

Do your homework. It's illegal because there are several hundred chemicals in it and the FDA will not allow legal sale of a drug with so many unknown variables. Prescribing a drug with so many unknowns is simply unsafe and unethical. That being said, recreational use is at odds with cigarette where it is legal to inhale thousands of chemicals. However, compared to cigarettes, it may even be considered safer in some respects (but still bad for you in general).

Drug companies push harmful prescription drugs to the market routinely with the full knowledge that there may be horrible side effects, or without knowing for sure if the function of the said drug is having a real effect on the big picture ailment it is trying to solve.
One example: Statins are a drug used to lower cholesterol with the goal of reducing heart attacks and heart disease. Myocardial infractions, if you will. A possible side effect of Statins is muscle damage. That is, it effects the level of a certain enzyme (or something, im not a scientist but i heard this IN PERSON from a Phd) which your muscles need. The heart is a muscle. Now why would they prescribe a drug for the prevention of heart attacks when in fact one of the side effects of the drug can be heart failure? Simple. They weighed the numbers and realized that even if so many million people's heart stopped, they'd still make so many Billions of dollars. Also, they purposely neglect certain aspect of preliminary research so that if taken to a legal battle, they can claim they were unaware of the risk.
Percription drugs are vastly more dangerous than marijuana. You could smoke a shopping bag of marijuana and you wouldnt die. Maybe get a cough and feel crappy since I'm exaggerating the amount. How many other drugs of any kind WONT kill you at any realistic dosage?

Back 75 to 88 years ago, the USA proved that alcohol prohibition didn't work. It just didn't work. Whether using marijuana is moral or not, it just doesn't mater, because USA tax payers are wasting too much money on the court system and prisons that could be used for more useful purposes. Whether you like it or not, billions of dollars are spent on marijuana every year, and not a dime of taxes are collected from the illegal sales.I propose the following to make it easier to get a law to pass:- Sell marijuana at liquor stores and cigarette shops in cigarette-form only by major cigarette manufacturers only, and add a "sin" tax for the local city or county to receive.- The legal age would NOT be lower than liquor (not beer). Why, in case they lower the beer drinking age.- You must ONLY smoke marijuana at home, otherwise illegal.- Marijuana would be included in the drinking-and-driving laws, thus no smoking-and-driving.- Must have a commercial license to grow marijuana, otherwise it is a felony. Why? To ensure the government collects taxes, which would be the #1 reason to promote the legalization.- Must have a manufacturer license to make marijuana cigarettes, otherwise it is a felony.- It would ONLY be legal for an individual to have marijuana in cigarette-form, otherwise the police wouldn't be able to easily determine if it was purchased from a store or home grown to by-pass the taxes.- Allow hemp to be grown with another hemp commercial grower license to promote making ethanol for transportation use and other typical uses for low-THC hemp. Any hemp commercial grower that is caught growing HIGH-THC marijuana would be treated as a felony and lose their growers license, unless they also have a HIGH-THC marijuana growers license.I'm sure some of you will whine about what I propose and want to be able to grow it and smoke it anywhere. Well too bad, because it won't happen. They need to make the taxes and strong rules otherwise congress would never pass the law. Its all about money (i.e. taxes) to make it pass!!!Do I smoke marijuana, no! Do I pay taxes, yes, and wish they were lower!

Actually, it was the Catholic Church many years ago that first banned marijuana for public use. In the bible, it says that Moses was instructed by the voice of God through the burning bush to make an anointing oil of myrrh, cinnamon, and roughly six pounds of Keneh Bosem (Hebrew for Cannabis), and told him to mix it with olive oil. This then became the "holy" anointing oil. The powerful enriched oil was discovered to bring on "miraculous" healing powers so was then restricted for use only among the highest ranking priests.

And yet, I can't remember the last time I got addicted to weed, spent a sizable amount of money on it each month (though I suppose that depends on your tastes) developed lung cancer, or had a hard ass time stopping. Hmmmm...

That is just about the funniest f**king thing I've read all day.

It's not about if something should be considered bad because it can harm you, cuz bro, you inhale more smoke particles walking down the street everyday from car fumes every day than what secon hand smoking would do. What the article insists on is that banning something should be for the right reasons, Marijuana should be legal, but probably with steep charges like those who do drunk driving or if they commit a crime. Anyway we are all gonna die, so let people decide what they do to their body, if it doesent hurt them or you, who should decide what you do in your house or not? hmm?
