Exactly, it all depends on what you were drinking instead of water.@purplesawdust: To me, diet soda is one of the nastiest tasting liquids I've ever ingested.
Of course, EVERYONE in America is fat solely from genetics and thyroid conditions. No one here is fat from eating too much and not exercising enough. I thought EVERYONE knew that!
To clarify: Being well hydrated has lots of health benefits, and drinking water instead of sugary beverages is part of a healthy lifestyle. So drinking water as part of a healthy diet is not what we are disputing. It is this seemingly widely held belief that the key is the more water you drink, vs. eating healthy, moderate exercise, etc, that we take exception to.Check out some diet forums and you will see people bragging about 120+ ounces every day. Just washing away important nutrients. And we have had doctors confirm the "sometimes when you think you are hungry you are really thirsty" so that would explain why sometimes drinking water does get rid of hunger pains. But if your body is really hungry for nutritious foods, drinking water will only fool your brain for so long.
