Because most computers i work on still don't boot from usb? that, and i don't have a 1gb spare drive to put it on.

I used to have Linux on my USB but it didn't work on my computer. I got a hard drive and that didn't work either...just bad hardware. My next computer will so I'll have it both on a hard drive and on a USB. Linux on a USB drive is one of the handiest tools to have, especially if you work with computers (no s**t).

Exactly . . . "No boot sector on USB device." I have to restart, not shutdown and start again, in order for my USB drive to be recognized fast enough. Also, for the casual Linux user, a bootable CD and/or VMware is good enough.
