As a "fat person" I enjoy hanging out with my skinny friends as they encourage me to get out and move more. I don't feel like it happens the other way around. We already pay more money for Insurance, clothes and are treated unfairly when we do try to venture outside of the house.

I think people are way overreacting because we're now sued to the stupid idealist philosphy that "everyone is beautiful in their own way."The truth is that bad habits can be acquired from friends just like your parents' bad eating habits can be passed down to their children by simple example. Don't dramatize or make it into what it isn't. It's not an attack on fat people but a simple fact: Habits can be acquired through social interaction.
