I have no problems with this. I have always made sure that I only keep media files that are DRM-free. Ta-Da, no problems. There are other places to get music and videos besides iTunes and that ilk, and the few times I have bought media from such sources, the first order of business is to change the format of the files to eliminate the DRM. I'm not giving them away, just want to play them on all of my hardware. Many music stores are now going DRM-free mp3 now anyhow.
Ubuntu's update manager. I open it up and click a button to update every program on my computer that isn't up to date - OS and applications. Anything that has a repository. There's nothing even remotely like this in the commercial world.Might add in the Bash shell as well. cmd.exe is a pathetic toy next to this, batch files don't even come close to what you can do with Bash scripts. If you're a developer or admin type, the FOSS server software that comes with a typical linux distro would cost thousands of dollars in Windows-land.
People who are making nonsense claims are getting buried. Examples"I'm not getting linux! I need windows to run Crysis on this netbook with a 9" screen and a 4GB hard drive!""You have to install everything from the command line!""I'm a professional whose job requires the use of thousands of dollars worth of specialized software that runs only on windows. Therefore no one should run linux."

In a technical sense they are, but they don't have the functionality of a pc and therefore aren't really classified as computers.

Get a Play Station - it's MUCH better for games. Wipe Windows. Get up to date!
