From what I hear, Arch has a habbit of breakage because of it's rolling releases (I think something got broke a couple months ago, I forget). If so, that's not a great choice OS for an average user.

My time IS valuable. The little learning up-front has saved my countless hours not maintaining a windows install. Its not Like I had to build my OS from scratch. Just install, change a few things to what I like and leave it alone. People should at least be able to perform routine maintenance on their cars too. Change the oil, clean the windows(pun not intended), check the tire pressure, etc. If you have to take your car back to the dealer to do these things, a) you don't deserve to drive a car. or b) you have more money than brains.

Lipstick on a pig is the definition of Vista. I deleted that crap off my hard drive and installed Ubuntu. Wish I had been able to ditch Windows years ago.
