I can't believe how the author was so judgmental about women who had undergone some sort of plastic surgery/enhancement. I suppose this shallow jerk won't date women who had braces. I mean, my God! -- they aren't natural! They felt they needed improvement and underwent expensive corrective measures!No wonder this idiot can't keep a relationship! If he'd care to forward any of their phone numbers, I'm sure I would find any of those women more than perfectly acceptable. For him, beauty is truly only skin deep, and his neurotic obsession leaves out consideration of who those women truly were. For a woman born with a deformed nose, surgery can overcome years of ridicule from bitchy and cliquish teenaged girls, who can be incredibly judgmental and vicious. Surgery is also often necessary for a deviated septum from a variety of causes, including getting whacked by a basketball in the schnozz (although in his shallow experiences, I'm sure they were all Hollywood coke hos, right?). Women can also have milk duct infections requiring reconstructive surgery of their breasts. But if they want some honkers or wish to even them out or keep this one or that from sagging, well, what the hell is wrong with that? Sheesh.My recommendation to this guy -- get a grip. Get some counseling, preferably from a female psychologist who can flick you on the side of the head (verbally), have you confront the many issues you clearly have, and maybe salvage you or better yet, keep you from messing with the heads of successful women who can't fit your perverted notion of "perfection."For what it's worth, I'm an award-winning screenwriter. God help me if I ever have to deal with this guy when involved in a film!
Gabriel, good points in the article... but pity an even more pathetic scenario... the yahoos who pass themselves off as the wrong sex. As for WOW, those self-absorbed "award winning screenwriters"... Hollywood has always had its own problems with being pompously "grip-less".
I agree mostly with the author. I'll take deformed and authentic over fake anyday. It may not be completely rational, but someone's who's willing to spend thousands of dollars on a boob job, has different priorities than me. Doesn't make them a bad person, just not compatible with me.
Not all women who have enhancement surgeries go overboard, some are correcting health issues. My doctor thought I was nuts for wanting the minimal (B), he was so used to D cups. Personally, I only wanted to look normal, not like a model or hoochie-mama. Maybe the author would be better off screening all prospective dates by giving them a questionairre to fill out prior to his groping sessions. Anyway, thank God we live in America and still have our freedom! We can say what we feel! We can vote! We can elect to have surgery!
I found the story refreshing. I've encountered plenty of men that like a "real" woman and yet it seems embarassing to admit that. While many things are made to "enhance" one's God-given beauty (makeup, fashion, frangrance) they aren't permanent or possibly damaging (usually). While there can be different reasons for having surgery done, the cause is often insecurity. Women are often held up to standards that are unreal. I'd rather have a man that is entranced by my wit and wisdom that my cup size.
