tech.uk.msn.com — The stuff of gaming legendThe thing is, Mario is a true icon of gaming. He's forever going to be associated with all that's good about our favourite consoles of yesteryear. His Jumpman beginnings in Donkey Kong and the arrival of Luigi for Mario Bros make him more old-school than the Tucker years on Grange Hill.

Digg up. CoD4 was and still is awesome. Now if anyone is a fanboy I am...a CoD fanboy. I've been through them all. I even have CoD4 on both 360 and PC. But there was just something magical about Galaxy, it was fresh, original, beautiful, playable, and it was Mario. Best game of 2007, and one of my favourite games of all time.

Mario should NOT retire. That suggestion is ridiculous. However, it wouldn't hurt for him to be a bit choosier about the roles he takes. This would would help to maintain his artistic integrity and brand image.

@KSUThere's a difference between going over people's heads and not being able to communicate effectively. You fall more towards the latter.

No. Mario can't quit. Mario is one of the biggest things Nintendo has. Yes, Nintendo should try to work on more than just the Mario, Zelda, or Metroid franchise, but he Mario can't quit! Also, I thought Super Paper Mario was for the Wii? And furthermore, the only reason Wii Sports was such a big hit was because people had to have it. It came with the Wii and for the majority, they didn't have any other games with them when they bought the Wii. So they played Wii Sports and yeah, it was kind of fun and it worked with the Wiis Motion sensing, but I could name tons of games that were huge for the Wii that worked really great with the Wiis motion sensing.
