That has nothing to do with the quality of the article. While I am rather unimpressed by the article, creating new words is just something people have the freedom to do.The author may not be the best example, but check out what good 'ole Shakespeare created: <a class="user" href="http://shakespeare.about.com/library/weekly/aa042400a.htm">http://shakespeare.about.com/library/weekly/aa042400a.htm</a>

I have a very high IQ (and yes I know every idiot on the Internet seems to say this, but this idiot isn't lying), am completely dysfunctional, feel like an underachiever, can be abnormally shy (a problem I'm working on), but am completely happy 99% of the time. Maybe the fact that, while I think about my problems a lot, I'm smart enough to know that I live in America so I don't exactly have it bad no matter how s**tty I'm doing relative to others. I realize that relative to others I'm actually doing better than avegage financially, both in salary and investing. I've been crusing through life and, at 23, already can picture myself reaching a director or VP level position before I'm 40... probably at the same company I'm working at now, which to most is unthinkable. It's a $3 billion company with a small (less than 150 person) IT department, with 2 VPs and 6 directors... and this company is only going to continue to grow. I really think that I work for the best company not named "Google", at least for my personal needs and wants. Enough with the post about me. It probably makes me seem so self absorbed It'll be the most dugg down post in this thread.

Now, how to figure out where people like you hide so I can find them in my area.

Unhappy people -- intelligent or otherwise generally visit their physician for a script to dull their senses. Something to make life all better. Can't be unhappy if you can't think and feel. Can't feel pain if you're comfortably numb. I think it's a damn shame so many walk through life in that state. The figures for "unhappy" drug users is staggering in North America. Life is the good, the bad and the downright ugly. Too bad unhappy folks can't accept that for whatever chemical, hormonal, genetic or environmental reason. I wish more would turn to nutrition, supplements, lifestyle changes, self-examination -- a drug free run at killing the beast of boo hoo.Good bit -- I enjoyed the read.

Well....close:The problem is that intelligent people have an intricate understanding of almost everything around them. They posses the ability to look at nearly any mechanism and deduce how it works withing a very short amount of time. They get used to being able to just make things work.Unfortunately, life exists on a much larger scale than the things that they are used to looking at, but they still try to apply the same concepts to them. Intelligent people get frustrated when they are unable to manipulate and control their lives and their surroundings in the same way that they are able to understand, manipulate, and control just about everything else that they encounter.

christianity is true all scientific studies done on it cannot find any faults,,, search for a video called "the search for scientific adam"and watch it.if you were smart you would blindly believe science, or one man of 130 IQ's lies..... darwins IQ is below mine, he didnt believe in God, eistein and all the greats did, just that in this era we have inmoral people, so they choose not to believe in God..if you were smart you would be able to see their is a God, and if not now, you will on your death bed.... or later in life...if you dont your simply not as clever as you think you are, or your evil..cause christianity is true science proves it......but sciecne doesnt prove evolution......science is great but remeber nothin in science is 100% so trusting it full heartedly is DUMB

God is real, do you also know that all people everyone is hard wire to believe there is a God,so in our life time no matter who we are we have prayed to god or asked god for help at least once, cause we are born knowing he exists when he made us...so when athiests claim the reason why they dont believe in God is not the fact that they like to do evil things, or the fact they have had something bad happen, blame god and hate him!like loosing a loved one or something tragic, or simply just something not going your way, you will blame God, and become a atheist and disbelieve in him...but atheists answer this by, claiming to disbelieving in something you first have to believe in him....well if someone says they are unsure, then they believe!!!because that unsure leaves room for chance....so when people become become atheists, they are angry at God and turned away from him because they were at least once unsure!!!so which comes to the complete result that all atheists are atheists because they hate God, angry at him, or simply dumb, and blindly believe in science.....but in everyone that disbelieves in God there is always hatred and the quality of evil!!

finally, a fresh perspective! From what I've gathered, most of you think that intelligent people are unhappy because they see the flaws of the world. That may be true to some extent, but I feel that an intelligent person can recognize the worlds flaws, yet also recognize/appreciate all the brilliants parts of life (like the random miracle of existence)I believe that highly intelligent people have a greater need for constant stimulation, because having too much time to think can be ugly. But while social stimulation is a great escape from the horrors of a complex mind, it doesn't help that intelligent people have a much harder time 'fitting in' with all the average Joe's that roam the earth.

really, really well-said. I used to fear that I came across as a know-it-all, but it stems from a genuine desire to show others what I know (or believe, at least)
