news.cnet.com— Sorry if it sounds like I'm drinking the Google Kool-Aid here, but I switched from Mozilla Firefox to Google Chrome as my default browser for the very reason Google's executives said we should: speed.

I have two monitors so usually I have Chrome in the main one and FF in the other. In the very beginning, Hulu and Facebook acted up a bit in Chrome, but since I switched over to the dev channel http://tinyurl.com/5s3256 I have had ZERO issues with Chrome. I'm so used to the fluid tab UI, download UI, and new tab favorites that I don't really miss FF. To be honest I don't notice that much of a difference without everybody's main sticking point, adblock, and I surf a lot.
1. (Rivetgeek) As I run lighttpd locally, no, there are no timeouts whatsoever.2. (ultrafez) Lolcats was for illustrative purposes only. I use a completely blank page.3. (gazzerh) It's hashed when changes are detected to it. And as each entry points to a single IP (127.0.0.1) it's pretty optimized.I have seen one ad in the last year, on Facebook. And I never visit the official Facebook site anyways, so the issue is moot.It amazes me how much negativity there is towards something that a) works well, b) uses less memory, c) requires no additional software, and d) has no negative effects. Go figure. Either you are all morons, or you're working for the company that produces AdBlock. As the latter can't be true…
