Yes they are customers but they are also very much users. Why - they USE systems, applications or computers they most certainly are not customers of these things.As with most things in life, there is no black or white just many shades of both.

If people who directly report to an executive are afraid to contradict him, LEAVE. The company is dysfunctional and management won't have a clue something's wrong until they go outta business

@Some users are dumb and stubborn and just don't want to learnExactly. This is the crowd that wants the flying car. But, they don't want to learn how to pilot it.

Most users are still trying to find the "any key". The problem is that IT has as much in common intellectually with the users as the users would with a white laboratory mouse.
