Well let's see. Rather than having to put up with a bunch of typical ads and over-robust UIs, Google gives me an easy to use and navigate interface and text ads ala AdSense. Sure their services aren't the best when they come out, but Google keeps adding features to make them better as they go along. I use Gmail, I use Google Calendar, I've used Gtalk in Gmail, and nearly every other service that Google offers. I feel that Google gives me what I want without charging me or annoying me with overly complex UIs and/or annoying ads. It's not their fault that they seem to do what they do well, and can let me benefit from it for free.

Google makes everyone else nervous because they just.. give consumers what they want. They're an advertising company that makes unobtrusive ads. You'd think, billions of dollars or profit later, that everyone else would get it.

@moracityYou don't know it but you ARE clicking on Ads. If you use Google or most any other Search Site the sites at the top are paying for results. I'm not just talking about "Sponsor Sites" either. Companies and people alike pay Google to return their sites near the top. The higher up the more you pay.

As a former employee of Microsoft, Google, and Apple I can tell you with ABSOLUTE conviction that Google is much like microsoft. They are turning into a huge company, huge wasteful meetings, wasted talent, and waaaay to many product managers to oversee the few employees who turn out real code.Google drives employees like slaves, sucks code out of them, and takes all your time. I'd honestly rather work at microsoft than google, at least at the end of the day they didn't expect you to stay till 9pm every night. When working at google I worked 18 hour days, and was constantly hassled by some dumbass manager coming around to "see how everyone is doing", and "lets have a meeting to discuss where we are at". I've never had more wasted meetings. Google pays better than Microsoft, but not by much, and if you have family or any kinda life, you can kiss it goodbye, because at google you are property, your just a number, and a code machine, and they expect you to buy into eat, sleep, dream goooogle. That and every employee at google is only there waiting, and cashing in what stock they can so they can go start their own business. Everyone has there own business at google, or their own side project, and they cash out and leave. My experience at Apple was the best of the 3. Better pay, totally different system, no dumbass meetings allowed (there was a sign that said "meetings are 90% a f**king waste") above the door, and we did everything in circle style development instead of handing s**t off from one department to the next. Apple is the only company that I've every seen actually innovate the way people work in teams. Everywhere else it's the same old s**t, boring meetings, wasted resources, and too many project managers. Now I freelance. In order of companies I enjoyed working for:1. Apple2. Microsoft (too many managers)3. Google (too many managers)

Google and Microsoft support China's Government. They should both be boycotted until they admit to and repair the msg. that this sends to the people of the world. If this countrys' Corporations (USA) keep making deals with this Communist Government, it is only more proof how corrupt our Government actually is to allow this. Remember Tiananmen Square!!!!

I've never bought a damned thing from a google ad or any other NET ad. I've been on the net over 12 years.I spend exorbitant amounts of time ensuring I never see any ads here, because I can.If I want something I'll research it, then search for the lowest price. My great grandfather, grandfather, father nor I give/gave a damn about prostrate shrinking pills that can cause anal bleeding. Don't want to serve up your crap opinions if I don't look at your goofy adverts, that's fine to. I'll go elsewhere.
