spiegel.de — People in many parts of the world indulge in the curious practice of eating dirt, also known as geophagy. But why they do so has remained something of a mystery. Researchers have observed that it is mainly pregnant women who experience cravings for earth. "It's like an addiction. There is even a word for it: vileo"

In western societies it is called consuming multivitamins and minerals.Western Society people, especially city dwellers, have become so sterilised from the non-exposure to bacteria that illnesses especially gut problems, are caused by an inactive immune system. Google is your best friend, find out where minerals come from. Dirt also contains catalysts to help the chemical assimilation. Animals are a lot smarter than humans give them credit for.

Wow, what a coincidence! My friend who I had not seen in a month just came over, and somehow the conversation turned to dirt. She is black, and mentioned "white dirt" or "chalk" her and her mother used to eat. Apparently they sell it around here (Auburn, Al) and she is going to pick some up for me to try... How strange!

I eat dirt, I am trying to stop there is some "white dirt" that is good for you and some causes bacteria to spread. For the last 14 years I have been getting the dirt that kills bacteria and keeps you well, but I must have gotten a couple of boxes, (yes I eat a lot of dirt) that were bad. I started getting ulcers in my back right where my Kidney is on the left side meaning my right kidney was suffering. I did some research and found that some dirt is toxic so I had poisoned myself. I took antibiotics and drank a lot of water and I am better known and I have gotten all of the dirt out of the house. I thought that because of what happened it would be good for me to share this. There are a lot of people that eat dirt and are ashamed. So for those that might not be so bold to speak about it I want to share this with you, and let you know that by taking a one a day vitamin you will gain the same minerals that you get from the dirt. The cravings will also go away once you are sufficient in your mineral intake.

I AM A FEMALE FROM GEORGIA AND I ACTUALLY EAT WHITE DIRT EVERY DAY. IT IS MORE LIKE AN ADDICTION AND I HAVE BEEN EATING IT SINCE I WAS A YOUNG GIRL. IF YOU ARE NOT FROM THE SOUTH AND YOU DO NOT UNDESTAND THIS THEN DON'T TRY BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND IT...
