From Wikipedia: "The remote location of the islands makes transport to the outside world difficult. There is no airport, so the islands can only be reached by boat. Something is definitely going on that we're not supposed to know about. Why the hell would a meteorologist's crew need a ladder on the side of a cliff going into a Batcave like area. Zoom in on the lower/left most building then scroll down some. You'll see some pipe going down the cliff, then a ladder in the middle of nowhere.
I would love to live on the nightingale island that is just south of it have the entire island as my island put a nice house on the south shore, put an airstrip on the flat top part of the island and a very tiny well hidden in that southern most alcove on the island a ship port. The the little land mass on the south and middle island on the north side of the island not attached to the Nightingale island would be my watcher islands post towers with 365 degree wireless transmitting night vision cameras pointing out at sea and a few facing my shoreline. That would be the ultimate place to live.

I'd hate to live on that island. Every time you drop something, it rolls into the ocean.
