Well, maybe when you're not welcome everywhere else you turn to comedy. The long tradition of jews not being farmers like everyone else mostly comes from the fact that in many countries they were excluded from such activities. And then the same people who didn't want them to have land would complain that they are into jewelry, science or comedy.It is true that a lot of the funniest comedians are actually jewish. And not only in the US, that's true in France too for example. I guess being different gives you a sense of humor.
