strangemaps.wordpress.com — The United States government has direct ownership of almost 650 million acres of land (2.63 million square kilometers) - nearly 30% of its total territory. These federal lands are used as military bases or testing grounds, nature parks and reserves and indian reservations, or are leased to the private sector for commercial exploitation.

Let's see those foreign corps. take that land back to their country. I remember when Japan was "buying America". Look at them now.

Well, the issue here is that they can't figure out which parcels of land are ALREADY being used to grow cannabis, soooo...

Mexicans didn't take the land from "another group of people." Mexicans retook control of their land after it was stolen from them. Mexicans never left or migrated from Mexico (not counting the last 30,000 years). Mexicans are native Americans.

They already do. Who do you think owns this country now?

What an asinine statement. Most of the BLM land we camp on is beautiful pine forests.People wouldn't live in a desert = check interstate migration statistics on Phoenix or Tuscon. Millions of people who didn't get your message that they don't want to live in the desert. The desert is lovely in AZ, nothing like sand dunes Sahara, it's quite lush.

Mexicans and Native Americans were just as savage as early Americans. Americans were just victorious.

So Ron Paul doesn't believe that "we the people" can decide to own land as a commons area for all of us? I guess he doesn't think our elected representatives can taken action on our behalf to preserve land for us. What would Paul rather do? Sell it off to the highest bidder? Given our falling dollar, foreign ownership is more likely than not.Any state that doesn't have much land set aside to be shared by all is really missing out. I'm glad I live in a state that is largely public owned and available for recreation. It adds a great deal to our quality of life.
