It's a shame that there is still so much confusion, fear, and even repulsion when it comes to mental illness - schizophrenia in particular. Even some of the comments left here are representative of this fact. In my opinion, schizophrenia is single handedly the most devastating illness a person can have, both for the victim and for anyone in their lives, and I have first hand experience of this. It is absolutely horrible. Articles like these inspire glimmers of hope in a world of darkness for sufferers and their families.I'm reading a book at the moment called "Tell Me I'm Here" by Anne Deveson - it is about a family's experiences with schizophrenia.. I would recommend it to anyone. It's disturbing, but very accurate.side note: I can't believe people still confuse schizophrenia with dissociative identity disorder..
Your obviously still very young if you respond with this mentality. FYI, schizophrenia typically hits people at age 21-25, so go on laughing, it would be a terrible shame if it hits you.

Could you get it?The disease isn’t contagious, but it’s sometimes hereditary. If one of your parents or siblings has schizophrenia, you have about a 10 percent chance of developing it.http://orangtuamurid.info/blog/?p=109
