I never said anything about direct voting, I just want much tighter controls on lobbying, but you know that will never happen.

LOL. Totally clueless. The only question come November is just how many seats the Dems will be losing.

The Public Option is the closest. And the Republicans are determined that not happen. I say whoever votes against the Public Option gets what they advocate instead and we get what they're giving up.

Republican's aren't in a position of power. They have no recourse to stop this bill. It's ALL on the Democrats on this one. And the rift in the Democrat camp is strictly because they know their jobs are on the line for an unpopular bill. If it was so popular, why wouldn't the Democrats be falling over-themselves to pass this right now without any chance of the republicans interfering with it?

Anyway, that's what I figured. You have the hardcore libertarian view and can't think outside that box. The reality is, that view doesn't match what this country is or has ever been, but I don't suppose you're big on accepting realities.I really get a kick out of how you guys get trapped in semantics and can't think for yourselves. But call it whatever you want. Taxes to fund society have been a reality since civilization began. No one's ancestors fought to be free of all taxes. When the word "freedom" comes to mean "not paying taxes" to you, something has gone tragically wrong.
