Wow, from all of these comments about obstruction of justice, etc., I think that we have lost track of the facts. The fact is -- as even the New York Times admits in its article today --there was no conflicting testimony by Gonzales. Furthermore, this whole inquiry is about something that Congress has no business prying into -- the firing of US attorneys. The administration has the power to fire political employees (US attorneys included) forr any reason at any time. Period. So who is flipping the finger at the Constitution and the American public? I would say Congress. Again. This is investigation noumber 300 and we still have no funding bills, etc. Isn't it nice to dabble in everybody else's business instead of doing your own job?

The fact is that congress can't find out if a crime has been committed because the WH is obstructing their investigation into the mater. There is some suggestion that the US Attorneys were fired because they failed to comply with requests that they investigate or prosecute political enemy's of the WH in an election year or possibly to call off investigations of political allies. Either way it would constitute a crime and a miscarriage of justice. The WH is obstructing the investigation into whether this is the case or not by ignoring subpoenas and not providing docs requested by congress.

The fact is that you can't say any of that unless and until there has been an investigation into it. And thats the point.
