johnadamsblog.blogspot.com — Ron Carey and the MN Republican Party actively attempt to keep out the fresh and badly-needed energy of the Ron Paul Republicans. Will the GOP go the way of the Whigs as it rejects new blood just when it so desperately needs it?

Why are you all surprised that every RP supporter isn't accepted with open arms by the republicans? You're followers of an anti-war, anti-centralized power, anti-spending candidate. No matter how much historically that would have helped him, nowadays it makes him look like a democrat. Either join the libertarian party or get used to being shunned by your party.

Regarding the "We the people" Act. First and foremost It's about empowering people at a local level. Yes, unfortuately some states will pass oppressive laws. Some will pass very liberal laws. Everyone gets more power in a decentralized system. The United States is just that - A colletuion of states. Remeber the "labrotories of democracy" sentiment from history class? No, I wouldn't apprecieate it if Texas passed a law like that but I REALLY wouldn't like the law if it was federal. The newsletter was unfortunate but yes, I have read it and it is not politically correct but also not racist. Ron Paul is not a racist. Have you heard him speak about the injustices of the drug laws and how blacks are disproportionally targeted by the justice system? Furthermore, I find it amusing that people assume that a man serving simultaniously as a Doctor AND a congressman couldn't possably have not been aware of the content. This is a political football and a smear. The newsletter issue is over. And yes, when the head of the NAACP says someone they have known for 20 years is not a racist, That's good enough for me. I would consider him an "expert witness" in this matter. You don't think the NAACP head in Texas, of all states, knows who the racists are? Really..?Yes. 95% of America is stupid and I say that without hesitation. Morons abound....SURPRISE!I Don't buy the arguments that human rights are only for those who have existed for at least 6 months. That's f**king arbitrary and you damn well know it. Human life begins at conception. To deny that is really to dwell in denial. Be intellectually honest with yourself and try to tell yourself that that is not a human being, A human lifeforce. Somehow, athiest I may be, I feel there is something special, unique and, yes, sacred about a human life. I just don't buy the argument that it's somehow okay to snuff out the flame of life because it happens to be inside someone else who has other plans. Pregnancy doesn't happen by accident. Why should an innocent pay for someone elses poor choices with their right to even exist? Cases of rape you say? Okay, that's a little different but, still, an innocent is involved and there's always adoption. If I remember correctly the John Locke social contract theory calls for protection of the citizens by the government. Even so, Ron Paul understands the importance of this not being a federal issue. He wants to protect life but overall understands that states must still be "labrotories of democracy." In the end, those states who pass bad laws will suffer from emmigration. It's free markets at the state law level. Open up competition and prosperity thrives. Ron Paul's objection to a federal law mandating that all states recognize homosexual mariage is the same objection to a bill banning gay marriage in all states. Ron Paul's objection to a federal law allowing abortion in all states is the same objecion to a federal law banning abortion in all states. Get it now. Ron paul is not so 2-dimentional as you claim and he has the wisdom to know that there is not 1 right answer for everyone. So, maybe Texas passes the law about believing in god and maybe Oregon states that you cannot have served as any high lever church officer to take office. People who are uncomfortable with texas could move to Oregon and vice-versa. That's a win-win scenario. Not everyone can afford to up and move? good point, so they can work for change from within their own state. I'm not so convinced that would pass in Texas anyway. Bottom line is that the Federal government has overstepped it's bounds and is no longer constitutionally correct.

Just back from the MN GOP convention .... WOW....Just Wow..From the 20 foot high communist red banners on either side of the stage with the Central committee pre approved slate. to the Red capped McCain paddle prodders with their Yes and No paddles telling the sheeple how to vote the party line, blocking microphones, and pushing around delegates!! it was quite an experience!Ron Carey again has shown his utter lack of leadership..and stewardship of the grassroots process that was the MN GOP! From his EARLY endorsement of Mike Huckabee to his mismanagement of MN GOP party funds.. I really think he should step down after his term is up!
