Man, that'll really suck when poor people can get care they need without worrying about bankruptcy when their insurance tells them they're SOL.

how big is the UK compared to the United States?

I don't think the article clearly points out that increasing medical school enrollment does not increase the supply of doctors which actually relies on medicare funding of residency training positions. Medical school enrollment has been ramping up with no corresponding increase in residency positions, thus the only result is that foreign doctors have a harder time getting a residency here.

Do you have any of those pesky "fact" things to back up your opinions? Maybe you're just reacting because you become angry, scared, and confused about things you don't have the mental capacity to understand,By the way, sentences begin with a capitalized letter. Words such as "doctors", "racial", and "about" are not proper nouns, so they aren't capitalized. Those little dots that you like to abuse so heavily are much better suited at the end of a sentence as periods. Proper grammar goes a long way when you want people to take you seriously.

Were per capita doesn't take in account the area the doctor coverage. In the UK almost anyone can see any doctor on that island with a 3 hour train ride. A person in the US is restricted by distance to more than 80% of the doctors. Plus doctors cover many fields of expertise.Example: My uncle suffered from a rare form of cancer. He was treated by a doctor 10 hours away (driving). In the UK it would be more 'local'.

Works pretty well here in the UK. And it's not a drag by any means. And we certainly don't pay half our pay cheques!
