It would be a very bad idea for MS to add more bloat. Why should I buy a new pc just so it can run this OS? An OS should always run as lean as possible. From Win 95 to Win 2000 the requirements barely changed at all. Win XP was the first to offer any graphical "enhancement", if you want to call it that, and most people just ended up disabling this anyway. Ideally when you configure Windows 7, (I hope they keep this name btw, it is simple and simple is good) you should be able to choose a "minimal" setup with only the core minimum needed processes and a simplified UI... I do hope they finally go in a bit of a different direction with the UI, I am getting tired of this taskbar we've had for well over a decade... but different doesn't necessarily have to mean a bigger memory & cpu hog.
well that's my point. They've been doing this for so long, it's about time they could make a product and release it with no huge problems. It's ridiculous.
I'm running Vista Premium w/ Aero on a 1.1ghz ULV Core Solo, 1GB Ram & Intel GMA...runs just fine. So I'd assume Windows 7 will run on it as well, but honestly by the time W7 is out, I'd hope that any computer I'm currently using will be in the dumpster.

When Windows 7 is release, I highly doubt I'll still have anything of this PC except the case and DVD drive.
