washingtonpost.com — When Matt Florian signed onto his Facebook account recently to check the status of his 400-plus friends, he had a friend request. It was from his dad. The junior at Sherwood High School in Montgomery County didn't panic. No. He simply took a deep breath and pondered his options.

Oh please, don't simplify things to stupidity levels. I don't have problems with pictures of me chugging beer online (I love beer!) but that doesn't mean I want my mom to see them.

If there's anything on your facebook that your parents can't see, it really probably shouldn't be there. Don't be a dumbass.

@ElAssoWipo:Problems with reading comprehension? Let's see...you said:[[Parents like yours are EXTREMELY rare.]]The parents to whom you refer were described as understanding and as having a good, open relationship with their son. You called that kind of parent rare just after stating that you had to file for a restraining order against your own mother. Yours is the rare case, not rooster's. There are far more open, loving, understanding parents in the world than mothers requiring a restraining order. There. Clear enough now? You're right about one thing, though: your level of reading comprehension is nowhere near that of a preschooler.

actually i'm not fat, i'm skinny. just don't like the kind of exposure they give you. do you go around the street, gluing posters on walls and lampposts with your picture, interests, sexual orientation and that kind of stuff? i don't, so i don't do in on the internet.

My mom recently began social networking and she loves it. It's a great way for us to keep in touch, share photos, etc.

we should change the word connotation- friend- for relationship- i have over 2400 friends on facebook including my sons, wife, etc- so we should broaden the feelings inspired by the word friend as is mentioned on facebook to include all those whom we have allowed to see our profile and with whom we can communicate- these are not friends in the true sense , but only someone with whom you may be able to send and receive messages on common and new subjects- they become part of your email list- that is all- regards- hiro bachani - facebook friend

we should allow all our close friends and relatives including our parents and children to add us on the facebook network as friends- even though they may not be friends in the traditional sense- these are just email contacts- in fact there are many add me groups on facebook- who all try to get as many friends- email contacts as they can get- there is nothing sinister in such email contacts gathering- these are not real friends , but just an email network- so facebook should change the word friend and replace it a with a broader word- perhaps contact or email network friend or just relationship-regards- hiro bachani- your facebook friend??? you may add me-
