firedoglake.com— Wow. Sarah Palin was on Bill OReilly to comment on Obama's address tonight, and it's every bit as crazy-stupid as you'd expect - even BillO seemed amazed by her performance.

Even if it's true -- and I'm not sure where you get the statistic -- that an electric car takes more petroleum to produce than a conventional gas powered one, that's a one time cost and I doubt that the difference is that much. Many of the new electric cars are being designed as plug-in, thus reducing any need for quick charging stations. I would guess that most daily driving is to and from work, where cars spend large periods of time parked and could be charged then if necessary. While electric cars may not be a solution for most Americans, they would be a solution for a large number of them. Most people drive less than 40 miles a day, so I don't understand how electric cars wouldn't be a practical solution for the majority. I personally would prefer a hybrid, one that would extend the range with a small generator of some sort.
Major accident? Like Chernobyl? Outdated reactor without sufficient precautions. Like TMI? Zero radiation leaked outside the plant, only some interior buildings had contaminants.Nuclear power is by far safer than any other power source that can provide the same amout of power (throwing out wind and other renewables since they aren't good enough to sustain all our needs yet). It is the way of the future (fusion eventually, fission is just a hold over) and creates far LESS pollutants than the coal, gas and oil burning facilities we have running.
Lol dig me down. First off most homes do not have the electric service to charge plug in hybrids. If the whole infrastructure changed over night you would have people plugging their cars in at home. Can you imagine that service overload? They don't make plug-ins that can go for hundreds of miles on a single charge. They can barely go 40 miles in perfect conditions on a single charge. Electric infrastructure is not where it would need to be even if over night we had Nuclear power plants everywhere the service that goes to your homes is what would need to be updated, and the wiring in your home to accommodate a 240 volt pull all night long x everybody off that one service. Since you guys don't' seem to understand this, let me put it this way. You know in the summer time when everybody throws on their air conditioners? And we have rolling brown/black outs throughout various areas? Imagine now in the summer everybody throwing on their air conditioners and plugging in their electric hungry cars? But whatever you want to believe is fine.My advice is talk to electricians in your area and ask them how amazing they think the electric cars will be.
@SkankingmikeI don't know where you're getting your information here either, but you're wrong.. Most homes most certainly do have the electric service to charge plug-in hybrids, or even fully electric cars. Electric cars are designed with this in mind. You can charge a Tesla Roadster, or a Volt, at any outlet. If you want to get fancy, there are plugs that most houses have for things like electric driers that you can also use, but they certainly aren't necessary, and most houses can get by just fine without them.People that actually look into these things realize that our electricity infrastructure is just fine to take care of these things. We close down a huge chunk of our electricity production at night, because fewer people are using it, considering that most car charging happens at night, when cars are sitting in their garages, we have quite a bit of excess capacity available that electric utilities would LOVE to open up and be able to sell, or even do timely upgrades to ensure availability. We're talking about less power on an average day than storing a decent server in your garage. As for range, the Tesla Roadster is set at 244 miles per charge, the Chevy Volt, as a hyrbrid, is only 40 miles, but that's the tradeoff you get for buying a cheaper car with a lower capacity battery, designed to function with the gasoline engine.
When she speaks, the oversexed Right Wing Nutts express true family values, and quickly leave their wives, to commit adultery with Ms Quit. Or should I say dream about it, and use their luggage carrier. "C Street" rules!
Sexually repressed left? I think you have your factions confused. It's the right that seeks to ban pornography, opposes homosexualty, is reluctant at best regarding contraception, and still wants to regulate broadcast media to keep 'indecency' off the air. If any major political faction is sexually repressed, it must be them. And yet, somehow, they just can't stop talking about it.

Word salad. She does this every time she's asked a question her handlers didn't coach her on for over 18 hours.

The sexually repressed left is absolutely smitten with Sarah Palin

Which really says a lot about how insane Fox is, if Bill is considered sane by their standards.
