Friendster had no direction or innovation, and no business skills. The worst part about that site is that there was even less to do than myspace...and it was full of webcam "girls" spamming your messages.

This means nothing since when Friendster was looking at Facebook it was way before it was popular, and there's nothing to show they would have made the same decisions as the current owners to make it as popular as it is now.Pointless article. No Digg.

Never. I'm pretty sure the IPO was around $85 and high demand pushed that to $105 before any "regular" investor had the chance to purchase. I said it was overvalued at that price, and I'm beginning to think I may have been wrong.

They turned down Google offer. Bad move friendster!If Google succesfully acquired Friendster, Google social networking will cover the whole demographic of Brazil (Orkut), the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.

I believe there were hundreds of different variations of friendster, facebook, myspace, social communities out there before they got huge. The difference is there management and marketing technique, if they bought facebook, there is no telling if they would have even been profitable.
